Hard escape to Vlichadhas bay

This trek is one of the painful I have ever done on the island. After having parked my car closed to the road of Katavati (start of walks to Profitis Ilias Monastery, the first part of the trek is ok. Good marking, paving stones, the path follows the Taxiarchis Skafis (church) on your right and then shows how to reach the church called Panaghia Tou Nighiou. Normally i'm struggling to find an easy way to go down and reach a beach without too many difficulties. In this case, it was a nightmare : 400 m of vertical change with no pathway...but shrubs, trees, big rocks, holes, old riverbed. But the nightmare was to return after a short break at the small beach. 2.5 hours of climb with lack of water...There is a house with a dirt road which could bring me easily to the top but it was completely private so no chance to use it. 

One more time, you won't find anybody else on this area of the island even july! I don't believe i will try again in 2012 except using a boat.
