Ayios Sostis !

This trek remains one of my favourite as it starts from a small village (Xevris) on the road to Cheronissos. This path was also used in the past to go to Achlada and will certainly be used to go to Vlichadha this summer 2015. The car shall be stopped near to a big water tank (drinkable) than a flag shows you the road to Ayios Sostis. Very nice and easy path with flat stones, stairs sometimes in the last part of the trek and a curious nd unforgettable lunar landscape. Sometimes you need to walk between two high stoned walls with a nice perspective on the sea and the church when it appears suddenly after having passed a last wooden gate. The church is settled on a rocks peninsula which is sloping down to the sea. When the weather is not so windy as it was last 2014 summer, the easiest way to enter into the sea without too much difficulties is to walk around the church by the left to avoid the caves and join the flat rocks that are on the right (when you face the church and the sea). Then youcan see the caves (old mineries) between the sea and the church. This church is one of the nicest on the island, very far from the touristic flow and so well maintened. Very very nice!!! See the photos.
