Mousia Farm

DSC_7655

Mousia meaning goats in Greek, you will easily understand the name of this farm located between the beaches of Fikiada and Xlakopo.

Legend says that the owners of the house went up in disaster leaving furniture and ornaments in the state. However, this is a pretty and forsaked farmhouse to restore with a hacienda surrounded by high walls. The only inhabitants today are the goats we tried to surprise sleeping on the beds. We found inside the woodena nd blue wardrobes in the walls. A ladder placed inside the patio allows you to take more height and view at a glance, the entire property and the land. Walking to the beach of Xlapoko, a barrier of large cactus is suddenly blocking our way. On the right, a "work of art" made of reclaimed wood reminds us the skeleton of an animal directly coming from Prehistory. Different access to reach Mousia are available, the first widely known via the beach of Fikiada and the second to do next time, passing closed to an ancient tower called Kalamari. Some snapshots are included in the appropriate directory.

The legend said also that the farm would have been bought by a rich ship owner distributing western cyclades....certainly a rumour!
